Your first bowel cancer screening test kit (FIT kit) will automatically be sent to you at age 50 through the post. You will then be invited to do a test every 2 years until age 74.
If you are age 75 or over, you can ask for a home test kit every 2 years by calling the bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 6060.
You need to be registered with a GP Surgery to be invited for NHS Bowel Screening
If you think you are eligible for bowel cancer screening but have not been invited or recieved a test kit please call the bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 6060.
Once you have done your test post the envelope with your sample as soon as you can. Postage is free and you do not need a stamp.
You will normally get the results back within 2 weeks after sending, sometimes it can take longer.
